Problem: Flywire door internal handle. Flywire door on motor-homes are far from user friendly. Certainly on Winnebago's at least. The door has no proper bar or grab handle apart from the slide in the door. It is not very convenient, nor effective to close the door by pulling on the handle that is a fixed behind the slide. Many folk have broken this handle, as it is made from a cast alloy. The constant pulling is what causes them to break. This is a costly item to repair, and difficult to source when you want to purchase. If you look at the door above you will see there is a nice solid bar for a pull handle. It serves as a handle to pull the door closed, and it is also used by my wife and I to steady ourselves as you exit the door.
Process:
I had taken two small pieces of flat metal, steel in my case and bent it in to a shape that would accommodate the aluminium RHO bar and a place to set a couple rivets and presto, you have a handle / grab rail. Simple fix, and less stress on that door handle.
The following pics show the saddle made from galvanized metal, cut and shaped to suite.
The aluminium bar which is 20x10mm bar.
The bar and saddle , and all you have to do is rivet the two together and then rivet to you door.
